Hi! I'm Cathy, the artist behind Cathy's Curiosities. I'm excited to have this opportunity to introduce you to my handmade art. Cathy's Curiosities came about in 2015 when MS forced me into medical retirement. I knew that I had to keep my mind and hands busy to avoid boredom while trying to find a way to contribute to our household. The problem is I've never been someone to do 'normal'. So, I allowed my curiosity to lead me down new paths, including the intriguing world of book folding.

It was down one of these new paths that I rediscovered Traditional Book Folding, falling in love with this handmade art all over again. However, I soon realized that I might get bored due to its limitations. This prompted me to seek out book artists who were pushing the boundaries of book art. I discovered one based in England and another
It was down one of these new paths that I rediscovered Traditional Book Folding, falling in love with this handmade art all over again. However, I soon realized that I might get bored due to its limitations. This prompted me to seek out book artists who were pushing the boundaries of book art. I discovered one based in England and another in Scandinavia, both of whom agreed to teach me their current craft: the Cut and Fold Technique. The rest, as they say, is history.
